Energy Efficiency Best Practice Program
The Energy Efficiency Best Practice Program is an initiative of the Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources which focuses on energy management, innovation and voluntary partnerships with Australian industry to improve business competitiveness and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The program is working with a range of industry sectors including aluminium production, beverage and containers manufacturing, bread baking and dairy processing.

Australian Building Greenhouse Rating
Building managers, owners and tenants can self assess the greenhouse performance of their base building, whole building or tenancy using the Australian Building Greenhouse Performance Rating Calculator. The Australian Building Greenhouse Rating Scheme is administered and supported by various government organisations around Australia, including the Sustainable Energy Development Office.

Electric Motors
Motor Solutions Online is a website managed by the Energy Efficiency Best Practice Program which has been developed in cooperation with the Australian Greenhouse Office as part of the Australian Motor Systems Challenge. It provides comprehensive information and guidance, as well as practical information and tools, to help your business make the right choices about electric motors.

Centre of Excellence in Cleaner Production
Cleaner Production is about making more efficient use of the materials and energy employed through business operations while minimising the generation of wastes and emissions. The Centre of Excellence in Cleaner Production is based at Curtin University and provides education, applied research and consultancy services in cleaner production and related fields to businesses, individuals and organisations.

The WA Sustainable Industry Group is also administered through the Centre. The Group is a network of professionals who have joined forces to promote eco-efficiency and cleaner production in Western Australia. Their aim is to share and promote innovative approaches to environmental management to maximise the ecological and financial performance of industry and to assist in creating a cleaner and more competitive Western Australia.

CADDET Energy Efficiency

The Centre for the Analysis and Dissemination of Demonstrated Energy Technologies (CADDET) provides an international information network to help managers, engineers, architects and researchers find out about energy-saving techniques that have worked in a variety of countries.

CADDET Energy Efficiency provides information and case studies on new, cost-effective, energy-saving technologies that have been demonstrated in applications in industry, buildings, transport, utilities, and agriculture.

Greenhouse Challenge
The Greenhouse Challenge is a joint voluntary initiative between the national Government (Australian Greenhouse Office) and industry to abate greenhouse gas emissions. Participating organisations sign agreements with the Government that provide a framework for undertaking and reporting on actions to abate emissions.

Greenhouse Friendly Certification Program
This program is an initiative of the Australian Greenhouse Office which enables product manufacturers and service providers to obtain certification by the Australian Greenhouse Office for products or services whose greenhouse emissions have been offset by activities to reduce greenhouse emissions in other areas.

TravelSmart Workplace
TravelSmart is a Western Australian program run by the Department of Transport to encourage people to use alternatives to travelling by car. The TravelSmart Workplace program targets employers and their staff. It focusses on providing information and motivation to reduce peak hour commuter trips, with the benefits of reduced traffic conjestion and improved air quality.
