The Government of Western Australia is offering rebates to householders who install environmentally friendly, gas-boosted solar water heaters.
Gas-boosted solar water heaters have the lowest greenhouse gas emissions and running costs of all common, residential hot water systems. Householders replacing an electric hot water system or building a new home may also be eligible for Renewable Energy Certificates of up to $900, as a result of the Federal Government's Mandatory Renewable Energy Target. With the Government rebates available, the extra investment in a gas-boosted solar water heater can pay for itself within 5 years compared to an electric or bottled LP gas hot water system, and within 8 years compared to a natural gas hot water system. Contact your solar water heater supplier to assess your eligibility and apply. Aims of the Solar Water Heater Subsidy Scheme
