Renewable Energy

A net feed-in tariff scheme will be introduced in Western Australia from 1 July 2010. The new tariff will be paid on all excess electricity exported to the grid from small-scale household renewable energy systems.

The Western Australian Government is seeking comment from interested parties on the preferred design parameters of the new tariff scheme. A discussion paper has been developed to provide guidance to the public and key stakeholders who wish to provide submissions. Stakeholder submissions will inform the development of the preferred scheme design.

Submissions must be provided by 5.00pm 20 November 2009 and should be addressed to:

Manager, Feed-In Tariff
Office of Energy
Level 9 Governor Stirling Tower
197 St Georges Terrace
Perth WA 6000

By email to:  fit@energy.wa.gov.au

The Western Australian Feed-in Tariff Discussion Paper can be accessed below. You can also request a paper copy by contacting the Sustainable Energy Development Office on 9420 5685 or by email at the address listed above.

Submissions may be made public unless marked confidential.
